Neoconservatives Prepare to Re-enter Cryogenic Sleep
By Jesse Singal - Nov 6th, 2008 at 5:34 pmThinkProgress reports that Bill Kristol wants to make sure displaced neoconservatives have a warm, comfy home during the potentially barren years ahead: a sequel, of sorts, to the Project for the New American Century. In an interview with Hugh Hewitt Kristol listed folks like Fred Kagan and Victor Davis Hanson as some of the possible beneficiaries of such an organization.
I can never tell how much of this has to do with the United States’ particular system versus how much of it has to do with the tricks that powerful people everywhere use, but I never cease to be amazed by how easy it is for once-influential but thoroughly discredited people to find audiences and teaching and speaking gigs long after it’s clear they have no idea what they’re talking about–and, inevitably, to return to power later on.
This isn’t the last we’ve heard of these folks, whose collective wrongness will go down in history as monumental.
